Shoulda been here Yesterday
I made a trip to the CW Wed. Talked to a guy at landing in the morning that was going out—He fished Tuesday morning and had 15 nice fish. We started off trolling and had 2 nice ones right off the bat, then nothing. My buddy Darrel was in another boat and was jig fishing and not doing anything either. Then about 10am i saw Doc Weis fly by us headed to our regular fishing hole. I called him and he said they chrushed them Tuesday afternoon, starting about 11am. Well i guess there were a bunch of phone calls made Tuesday nite bc about 40 boats showed up between 10 and 11 am. That was just insane for this time of year, and all of them were fishing the same 1/4 mile section of bridge) I didn’t see anybody catching anything. We hung around till 1 pm hoping for it to turn on, but never saw it. We only had 5 fish–(4 trolling and one Jigging) and we fished from sun up till 1 pm–they may have turned on later, but not before we left. I did see Jeff Bural (forgive spelling) the Louisiana fish fry guy out there, he may have had better luck than me, but i don’t know. So it seems to be hit or miss these days. Doc only had one fish and could not believe it died off in one day like it appeared to . Water temp was 52 degs the entire day.
